The Office of the Vice Principal at Akrokerri College of Education plays a crucial role in providing academic leadership, ensuring quality assurance in teaching and learning, and overseeing all academic operations of the College. The Vice Principal works closely with the Principal, Heads of Departments, and other administrative units to promote excellence in teacher education.
Ms. Akorfa Akosua Agbosu
Vice Principal, Akrokerri College of Education
Ms. Akorfa Akosua Agbosu is an accomplished educationist with years of experience in academic leadership, teacher training, and institutional development.
As the Vice Principal, she provides direction for academic planning, supervises faculty performance, and ensures that all programmes and activities align with the College’s mission and the standards of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
Functions of the Vice Principal’s Office
- Promote academic excellence through effective supervision.
- Strengthen quality assurance systems of the College.
- Foster innovation and professionalism in teacher education.
- Support faculty development and academic leadership.
- Assist the Principal in academic policy implementation.
- The Vice Principal’s Office serves as the central hub for academic administration within the College. The mandate of the office includes ensuring effective teaching, maintaining academic standards, coordinating internal assessments, and overseeing the welfare of academic staff.
- Serve as Acting Principal in the absence of the substantive Principal.
- Ensure the effective implementation of academic policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with heads of departments to maintain academic discipline and performance.
- Promote research, innovation, and professional growth among teaching staff.
- Organize academic board meetings and ensure follow-up on decisions.
